Sorry we missed you last week! We’re in the middle of making some upgrades behind the scenes to make Venice Rising even more useful (and easier for you to use).

Big update: You can now add events directly to our calendar, no more emailing us and waiting. Just head to the calendar and look for the pink “Add Event” button:

We’re building this to be a true community powered resource, especially for local parents, schools, and small businesses.

Even when events are happening far away, kids still hear about them at school, online, or through snippets of adult conversations. And sometimes they bring home big questions.

If you’re not sure how much to say or how to say it, here’s a simple, age appropriate guide to help.

There’s a lot swirling right now around LAUSD, Superintendent Carvalho, budget conversations, and district changes.

We’re actively following developments and will keep you updated as things unfold.

A hands-on sensory play experience featuring the wildly popular putty brand. Expect squishing, stretching, experimenting — and very happy kids.

Lost Princesses of Oz – A Brand-New Musical Comedy (All Ages)
A fresh, family-friendly stage production filled with music, humor, and classic Oz-style storytelling. A great intro to live theater for younger kids.
